Summer Programs & Summer Quest Reading Challenge

From June 15 through August 3, the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library and The Youngwood Area Library will offer virtual programs for children birth through teens. Instead of in-person programs due to the current climate, all of this year’s programming will be virtual. Becuase of this, program registration will close three days early so that families can schedule a pick up of the free materials that are needed for some programs.

It’s never been more important to support your child’s learning. This summer in particular it is critical. Our virtual programs will only grow your child’s ability to understand literacy, STEM, and to “imagine their stories!” Our theme-based programs incorporate Common Core and include STEM/Literacy opportunities. But what allows our Summer Quest to be meaningful and productive is that our emphasis is on FUN!

This year we are very excited to introduce to assist in our Summer Quest Reading Challenge! Babies, kids, teens, and adults can all participate to win prizes by completing reading requirements for their category. It also includes book and activity logging, badges and registration for all members of the family under one account. We have prizes for the children and teens, as well as for adults! As with  many aspects of life these days, we are trying our best to adjust to many new tools to best serve you and appreciate your patience!
